Questioning

We are learning to ask good questions this year.
Today the Year 3s worked on a question to ask others,
when they already knew the answer.
Can you work out the answer to this question?

What is an orange, crunchy, long cone-shaped vegetable that grows underground in your garden, and has green leaves that grow out the top?

What is a soft yellow crescent shaped fruit that you peel?

Some of our busy girls then wrote their own questions, knowing the answer.

What is a juicy, round red fruit that grows in the garden? by Lucy

What is a red, mushy fruit that has lots of seeds and is very juicy? by Jelena

What is a green vegetable that is long, has leaves just at the top , and grows on the dirt?

Healthy Food Choices

Healthy Food Choices

We have continued our MAKING CHOICES topic with a health focus on making healthy food choices. We have made posters of the Food Pyramid.

Mask Making

Today Mrs M told some year 3 people to help Cody, Jessica V, Jody ,Laudis and Freya make a mask.
First we had to get a brown paper bag. Then we had to cut out some eyes. After that we had to draw a nose and a mouth. When we got to work it was very easy. All the masks looked cool. When they were finished Mrs M took a photo. It was fun.

There were eight Snow Whites and Five Dwarfs.

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS DAY

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS

Snow White and the other characters made choices in the story.
They made 22 choices. We counted them.

Put Safety First. Think About The Choices You Make.

The next part of our topic looked at safety guidelines /rules to keep ourselves safe in Room 3.
We need to make the right choices so no one will get hurt or feel unsafe in our room.
We used our YELLOW and BLACK hats to help us think of what will happen if we follow or don't follow the rules.

MAKING CHOICES

We in Room 3 have been a little slow in getting on the blog this term.
Hopefully we will make up for it in the last few weeks.
Our integrated topic this term in on making choices.
We began the study with a lucky dip . Children talked about the good and not so good things about lucky dips. This involved thinking with the help of the YELLOW and BLACK thinking hats.
When they put on their RED hats some children expressed disappointment with their gift from the lucky dip. This was a good introduction to the topic. With the help of GREEN hat thinking we were able to swap a few gifts and everyone went home happy.
