Cows and Methane Gas

When Connie told us that the cows "windies" were helping to make a hole in the ozone layer we asked Korina to tell us all about how this could be. Islay told us that the ozone layer was like a blanket over the world. The next day Gavin brought some cows to graze right outside our school. We went to check them out.
Callum took a photo of one of the cows, and wrote this explanation.......

COWS
Cows have four stomachs.
It looks like they only have one or two.
Their four stomachs have to work hard to digest their food.
Cows make a special gas called methane gas.
It comes out the rear end and the front end.
by Callum

Jessica M's friends thought her writing sounded like a poem.
What do you think?

COWS
Cows eat food.
The cows digest the food.
Then the cows burp
and the cows pass wind.
The cows pass wind
and the burp from the cows
go up to the atmosphere.

Hello Room 3. It was very interesting to read about the Methane Gases cows give out when they burp or pass wind....next time we see a herd of cows we will be wondering how "gassy" they are...hahaha! And we just thought they produced MILK!!!!!!!
