Margaret Mahy

Margaret   Mahy

Yesterday Room3 celebrated Margaret Mahy because she had died by… reading her books, drawing a picture of our favorite books by her, and last we made witch’s hats. It was fun and Room3 hopes that she lives a happy life in heaven. Room3 loved her books so we would like to say thank you to Margaret Mahy for writing lovely children stories.

The Birth of the Moon
One day the birth of the moon.
There was three ducks, and one snake and one turtle and a moon and a sun.
There was a surprise for the animals.
The sun got angry because the animals did not say thank you for the moon.

The Birth of the Moon
Once upon a time there lived a snake three ducks and a turtle.
It was dark and the animals couldn’t see so they asked the sun to stay here, but the sun said, “No, but this night there is a surprise for you.”
It was a moon that’s lighting up the sky. The moon grew and grew.
The sun got angry because the animals didn’t
thank the sun. The sun took away the moon.
The animals said sorry to the sun.
The sun got the moon back for the animals
and they lived happily ever after.

Night and Day

Why we have night and day
The earth is going around the sun. The sun shines on the earth. When the sun is shining on the other side of the earth it is day on that side. When it is day on that side it is night in New Zealand.
By Rose.

Why we have night and day.
This is why we have night and day. Night is when it is dark but on the other side of the world. The world spins around in a circle around in space. This is why on the left side it is light. And on the right side it is dark .Night is time for people to sleep. In day time people wake up.
By Amber.

Why we have night and day.
The sun makes day and night.
First the earth spins and that makes day and night. It does this because the sun shines on the earth when it spins. The sun shines in day and it is at the other side of the world when it is night here.

Why we have night and day.
The earth spins round the sun.
The sun shines on the earth and spins 24 hours. The earth looks at the sun, it’s day and the other side of the world is night.
By Phillip

Why we have night and day.
The Earth spins round the sun to make day and night. It is day on one side and night is on the other side. As it goes round the sun the sun shines on the Earth.
